TESTINg Info
ACT and SAT
Both the ACT and SAT are used by colleges to make admission decisions. They assess what a student has learned in high school and the knowledge they can apply. Students take the ACT or SAT in the spring during their junior year or in the fall their senior year. Both the ACT and SAT also offer pre-tests, the PreACT and PSAT, for students to take and learn their strengths and weaknesses. Both the PreACT and PSAT are given during the fall. Please use the below buttons to learn more about each exam and to register for either the ACT* or SAT. If you need assistance registering for an exam, please contact your school counselor. Students interested in taking the PSAT will register in the student services office.
There are fees associated with these exams. Students that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a fee waiver to take the ACT and SAT. For more information please see Mrs. Taylor.
*The state testing program allows East Rowan High School to administer the PreACT in the fall to all 10th grade students and the ACT in the spring to all 11th grade students! There are no fees or need to register for this. If a student takes the ACT at East but wants to take it again, then they will have to register on the ACT site.
