Career & college promise
Career and College Promise (CCP) through Rowan Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) is a dual enrollment opportunity, which allows students to take college classes while in high school and earn college credit free of tuition. Most North Carolina state universities accept credit earned through the CCP program. To be eligible to enroll students must be a junior or senior and be in good academic standing (there is a GPA requirement). Most of the classes offered through the CCP program are online. Students may work on their college class during the school day- we will ensure that there is a class period in which students dedicate their time to their college class.
CCP also allows students to take career and technical classes, which may lead to certification in respective areas. This carries the similar eligibility requirements; students must be a junior or senior and have a certain GPA.
Students interested in Career and College promise should see their school counselor. Please know that although CCP is free of tuition there are book fees involved. CCP also requires responsibility and autonomy of the student. It is the students’ responsibility to contact RCCC if they need to test to meet testing requirements, if they are having technical problems, or if they need any type of assistance. Once students are enrolled through RCCC they are committed to that college class. If a student withdrawals from a class after our ten day drop add period, it will record on their high school transcript as a "WF" (withdrawing failing).
